 "IHY Kite Arch"
Kites are very popular in Thailand, particularly in the Spring when the
winds are high. IHY-Thailand sponsored a special activity where children hand-painted kites based on IHY
themes. The well-attended event, held in Vachirabenjatat Park, Bangkok,
featured many activities and games, culminating in a beautiful IHY kite arch.

| IHY OBSERVATORY OF THE WEEK
SEVAN
The Space Environmental Viewing and Analysis Network (SEVAN) detectors
have been specially designed to improve space weather studies and
forecasting. The network will detect changing fluxes of most species of secondary cosmic rays at different altitudes and latitudes, thus turning into a powerful integrated device for exploring solar modulation effects. The first site
will be in Zagreb, Croatia, followed by multiple sites in Europe and Asia.
