IHY PERSONALITY OF THE WEEK Dr. Hans J. Haubold Dr. Hans Haubold is the originator of the United Nations "Basic Space Science" Initiative and the United Nations representative of the IHY Secretariat. Although Hans is a successful researcher in theoretical astrophysics, he has devoted the last 14 years to the Basic Space Science Initiative and the establishment and support of Space Science activities in underrepresented regions.
