Observations

    Providing Observations for WHI: Yes
    Observatory:SORCE, TIMED-SEE
Type of Observation: Solar Spectral Irradiance and Total Solar Irradiance
    Coverage for WHI: Sun
Observation Location for WHI: Low-Earth Orbit (~600 km)
Observation Plans for WHI: 1. TIMED SEE will make its routine solar observations of the the solar irradiance from 0.1 nm to 195 nm in 1-nm intervals. These include a 3-min observation every TIMED orbit, with about 15 observations per day. TIMED SEE data products are generated daily and made public at: http://lasp.colorado.edu/see/.

    2. Calibration rocket for TIMED SEE is planning its launch at White Sands Missile Range, NM for April 10, 2008 near 20:36 UT. The solar community also has campaign for April 10-15, 2008 to study the "solar minimum" conditions. Web site for checking on rocket flight status is at: http://lasp.colorado.edu/rocket/rocket_future.html

SORCE: solar spectral irradiance from 0.1 nm to 40 nm and from 115 nm to 2400 nm and also the total solar irradiance (TSI), daily observations plus some higher cadence measurements
