Observatory:SORCE, TIMED-SEE Type of Observation: Solar Spectral Irradiance and Total Solar Irradiance Coverage for WHI: Sun Observation Location for WHI: Low-Earth Orbit (~600 km) Observation Plans for WHI: 1. TIMED SEE will make its routine solar observations of the the solar irradiance from 0.1 nm to 195 nm in 1-nm intervals. These include a 3-min observation every TIMED orbit, with about 15 observations per day. TIMED SEE data products are generated daily and made public at: http://lasp.colorado.edu/see/. 2. Calibration rocket for TIMED SEE is planning its launch at White Sands Missile Range, NM for April 10, 2008 near 20:36 UT. The solar community also has campaign for April 10-15, 2008 to study the "solar minimum" conditions. Web site for checking on rocket flight status is at: http://lasp.colorado.edu/rocket/rocket_future.html SORCE: solar spectral irradiance from 0.1 nm to 40 nm and from 115 nm to 2400 nm and also the total solar irradiance (TSI), daily observations plus some higher cadence measurements In addition to the LISIRD web site given, these data and information about these satellite instruments can be obtained from: here and here Sample Data File Sample Image
